A note from the Executive Director:
Welcome to LCHE 2010-2011 School Year!
The board has been busy planning this summer and look forward to seeing all of those plans come to fruition this year. There are quite a few new activities and plenty of the old favorites. We have decided to have the kick-off in a more casual environment at Fairfield this year. Your children can play while you sign up for LCHE, KLASS and meet Committee Coordinators.
In this email you will find 2 attachments:
1. A note from Cyndi, our Membership Coordinator, giving you the details for the kick-off. Please read this before coming to the kick-off on the 19th as she has included a lot of changes for this upcoming year sign-ups.
2. Our new LCHE Super Form for the 2010 LCHE/KLASS year. Please make a copy of this to bring to the kick off (or mail in). I hope this form is more family friendly than the previous ones. The goal was to keep it simple.
Check out the website! Hannah has updated every page of it, including the calendar. (Thank you, Hannah!) If you have dates/information from your committee to add, please email Hannah with those.
Paige is our new Family Life Director. She is coordinating scripture memory for the kids and whole family activities. Mary Henderson will be handling the memory ministry, Word in Me. Mary will be getting the verses to you before KLASS begins. Your child can recite them for a prize on Thursdays at KLASS. Could there be a better program for our kids? (Donations for prizes encouraged.) Paige also is coordinating a Bible Study taught by Lorraine Rucker every other Thursday. We will be studying the Precept Study by Kay Author, "Sermon on the Mount". There will be childcare for $5 a child. Please let Paige know if you are planning on attending so books can be ordered and childcare planned.
KLASS will have Art with Mrs. Glosson, Science with Mrs. Brown and PE with Coach Alston. Please note that Art and Science have additional $3 supply fees for consumables. We will use the art books; art supplies and DVDs from last year, but art and science both have continual needs throughout the year. Teresa Hannah will be our House Mom again. She will be selling snacks during the break at $1 per drink and $1 per snack. (You can pay for snacks in advance, if that would be easier for you.) Additionally, we are planning on a Fall Science Fair, Winter Talent Show and Spring Art show. As I hear the teachers’ plans, I am excited about this year for our kids and their time together at KLASS!
Joi has updated her list of Committees. If you do not have a committee in which you serve in LCHE, please contact Joi. She has worked hard to get these committees updated and defined this summer. She now has a running list of areas where we could use your help this year. We are a busy group who enjoy doing lots of activities together. Thank you for pitching in and helping out when you can!
We are helping Ray, our Treasurer, out by not having a money box this year. Our
moneybox will be for LCHE donations and for any LCHE questions
and comments. It will be available at KLASS. Any money you need
to give to LCHE outside of the kick-off needs to be sent to the LCHE
PO Box. This includes Field
Trip, KLASS, Membership, Yearbook and other fees. **Please
write what the check is for on your 'memo' line on your check.** We
will give receipts for cash payments, if requested. Otherwise, please consider
your cancelled checks to be your receipt.
Okay, Welcome! Download your Super Form, pack up your kiddos, invite your friends and family, and join us for the kick-off on August 19. I, and many others, will be available to answer any questions and field any suggestions you may have at that time. If you are still reading, good for you! Thanks.
